God shows us His mercy in our weaknesses. Though saved, we all have areas in which we are weak; areas where we tend to fail and to fall, i.e. our faults and shortcomings. “For we do not yet have a High Priest who cannot sympathise with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb 4:15-16). Jesus came to help the seed of Abraham; and because He Himself was tempted in all things, (yet without sin) He is able to help those who are tempted. (Heb. 2:16-18). Jesus told Peter that satan had asked to sift Peter as wheat but He had prayed for him that Peter”s faith should not fail. (Lk. 22:31-32). “As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear him. For He knows our frame; (i.e. understands our constitutions) He remembers that we are dust.” (Ps. 103:13-14). The Bible says that God is faithful, not only will He not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able to bear, He will also make the way of escape for us with every temptation we face. (1 Cor. 10:13). What a merciful God we serve! He is always looking out for us, not to “get” us, but to help us out!
Wisdom Key: God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able to bear!
Memory Verse: “For we do not yet have a High Priest who cannot sympathise with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Heb. 4:15-16.
Life Application: The Bible tells us that God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. With this scripture in mind, we should be challenged to change our perspective towards our trials.
